1 Bottle

Bottle numbers are written both ways — 0438 on the QA report and 438 on production tracking. Either is fine, they are matched to the same bottle.

2 Reference numbers

This is what joins the resort to Ardagh's production run.

3 The defect being looked for

One report, one defect. If Ardagh asked about a second defect, that is a second report.

4 The consignment

These two numbers are the denominators. Without them the report can say how many bad bottles were found, but not whether that is a massive issue or a minor one — which is the question being asked.

5 When and who

6 Pallets checked

One line per pallet you actually opened. A pallet you checked and found nothing on is 0 — that is a real result and it belongs here. A pallet you did not check has no line at all.
